Injectable product assessment · skin quality against volume · reading a product claim by class
Dr. Ke He is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital and head of its skin and laser aesthetic service — and she is the lead physician of this site. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, she has worked on the clinical front line in skin laser and injectable aesthetics for more than 20 years, serving over ten thousand patients.
On this review her part is keeping the products apart. She names the product and the class before discussing what it does, treats the evidence for the best-studied injected class as belonging to that class rather than to the category, and distinguishes a treatment for skin quality from one for volume because the two are different indications with different products. Where a product has a thin evidence base she says so plainly rather than letting the reader infer the strongest case from the group, which is the inference the category is built to encourage.

A category is not an evidence base
Skin booster is a name for a way of placing a substance, and the products inside it are not interchangeable. Evidence belongs to a product and an indication, so a strong result for one member of the group is a fact about that product — and a page that describes the category while quoting it has moved the finding somewhere it does not belong.
